The Tolland Tykes Program is sponsored by the Town of Tolland and is under the direct guidance  of the Tolland Recreation
Department. 

Our main objective is to provide a safe, positive, nurturing environment where children can grow and thrive in a group setting while at the same time continue their individual development. Tolland Tykes is a play-based, hands-on, developmentally appropriate preschool program. We use the State of Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards to guide our curriculum and programming. The children are exposed to all of the major developmental areas including language and literacy, motor development, creative art, math, science, music, and play. At Tolland Tykes, the individuality of every child is valued and respected.
 
We offer a 3 year old program which meets Tuesday and Thursdays and a 4 year old program which meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

General Information
  • Both classes run for two-sixteen week semesters, which roughly follow the regular school calendar.
  • Semester 1 runs September – mid January
  • Semester 2 runs mid January – May.
  • Dates are subject to change due to weather cancellations, etc. They will be made up at the end of the year.
  • Enrollment is accepted on a first come first serve basis, so if you are interested, please don’t wait.
